MONTREUIL | 2021
We the living is an audio fiction created with four amateur groups who worked together in radio broadcasting workshops between January and June 2021 in three cities in the outskirts of Paris: La Courneuve, Montreuil and Créteil. Together, we write and record a piece of fiction using a news story as a starting point: the closure of the SNEM factory in Montreuil, a dilapidated and polluting facility located thirty feet away from a school. We draw a dystopic story from this event: the economic collapse of a town after a factory closes and how it impacts the lives of residents around.
