FICTION | 5 EPISODES | 2024

Three teens, one phone, and the dark underside of tech…

Luna, Babacar and Antoine are in their second year at the Lycée Sedar Senghor, and it’s the start of the new school year. Born into a middle-class family, Luna is left to fend for herself as her father leaves to work in the United States. She’s a rebellious teenager repeating the second grade. Babacar, an old school friend, a year younger and an excellent student, finds himself in her class. Their complicity is reborn. Antoine, an unmotivated student, lives in the Acacias housing estate, where he is involved in a variety of petty crimes.

Luna and Babacar’s path crosses Antoine’s when a telephone racket is orchestrated by “Le Grizzli”, an 18-year-old kingpin who controls the Acacias housing estate.

The cell phone, an object of consumption and covetousness, becomes the starting point for a reflection on the environmental issues linked to its manufacture. In five episodes, through the stories and quarrels of three teenagers, this drama tackles the themes of sustainable development, rare metals, resource depletion and the hidden face of the digital transition…
