YOUTH PROGRAMME | 8 EPISODES | 2021 – 2024

A piece of wood, even if left in the water for a long time, will never become a caiman.

In this selection of eight tales, taken from the three seasons of Africa Through Tales recorded in Ivory Coast anger is a bad advisor, from the mouse that you should never trust a boa, no matter how convincing, and from the king of the bush that a rat and a spider can teach you a cruel lesson.

Gathered by librarians from the Abidjan-based association Des livres pour tous, and produced by Making Waves, these West African tales also provide answers to questions you’ve no doubt often asked yourself: why do the hare’s ears stand on end? Or why does the woodpecker keep banging its beak against the tree trunk?

Apologues to help you cope with tricky situations, life experiences poured into the common pot, these stories for all audiences invite you, in turn, to pass them on.
